Insight - Connection - Purpose - Joy
Coaching supports you to find your own way, realize your full potential and to give the best of yourself to others.
Constanze is a wonderful health coach. She gently and compassionately held space for me to introduce some dietary and lifestyle changes - things that I really needed to do but just couldn’t find the motivation to do by myself. With Constanze’s help I was able to reduce my intake of inflammatory foods with the result that I not only felt healthier but happier too! Thank you, Constanze!" (Sara, 50, journalist and mum)
Do you sometimes have the impression of running after life instead of living life fully? Do you sometimes think: no matter how hard you try, it's just never enough to meet the demands in various areas of life - family, career, partnership, appearance, leisure? Do you think that you should always be calm, friendly, relaxed and good-looking while juggling the 25 balls of your life at the same time?
Maybe you have already had a lot of success with the method "grit your teeth and push through". Maybe you have always managed to be "right", almost perfect, by trying really hard and going beyond your limits. And maybe at some point the "bill" came in the form of stress or exhaustion symptoms such as digestive problems, sleep problems, joint pain, hormone imbalance, burn-out?
Or maybe you feel like, it's time to spend more time with the people and activities you truly care about and take care of your wellbeing?
The good news is: we can learn to cultivate wellbeing, by cultivating joy, serenity and (inner) compassion and a healthy life style. When we learn to treat ourselves like the most compassionate person we've ever known - a best friend, a grandmother, a spiritual teacher - a space emerges in which we can connect with our inner wisdom, values and intentions. This process of (spiritual) growth, allows us to unfold our true potential. When we practice being true to ourselves and trusting our own inner voice instead of always seeking someone else's way, we become more and more the person we want to be in this life. This process usually results not only in greater personal well-being, but also has a positive effect on our relationships and our environment. Wanting to develop one's potential is therefore not selfish, but it's deeply altruistic to care for oneself in order to give one's best to others and not only what is "left" of oneself.
As we all know, a healthy mind lives in a healthy body. Physical wellbeing such as good sleep, high energy-levels and being free of pain are the foundation for live satisfaction. Often small, simple changes in lifestyle are enough to set the course for long-term physical fitness. Here Coaching builds in particular on functional medicine coaching.
Various modern and classical techniques of mindfulness, yoga and modern neuroscience teach us to cultivate healing emotions such as joy, gratitude and serenity which strengthen our resilience. A loving compassionate attitude towards inner saboteurs and the challenges of our own lives, enables us to free ourselves from old patterns of thinking and behavior.
Most people long for deep human connection, a sense of wholeness and meaning. The techniques of mindfulness and coaching help us to connect with what is really important to us and to accept ourselves as we are, so that at the end of life we can say: I wasn't perfect, but I was true to myself. Or as Frank Sinatra sang so beautifully: I did it my way!
Coaching is one of the most effective and efficient tools for personal development and growth that I have gotten to know. It's long-term effect lies in the fact that it is about making exactly those changes that you would like to achieve yourself. It's not about advice or external expertise - on the contrary, the coach's task is to help you listen to your inner needs and activate your inner wisdom and intuition to do what you would like to do. Basically, the coach can help you find the best way, but you have to decide where you want to hike and walk up the mountain yourself. My own experience as a coachee has enabled me to find increasing confidence in my own voice. With the help of my coaches, I was able completely change my diet on the long term and understand the mental and habitual blockages I had against a gluten-free diet, for instance. By recognizing and understanding obstructive thought patterns, such as an overactive inner critic, I was able to incorporate concrete little habits into my daily life that help me cultivate healing patterns, such as gratitude and looking at the good right now.
From the beginning, this approach was extremely compatible and synergetic with everything I had learned in my yoga and mindfulness trainings: e.g., meeting your own body and mind with love and kindness, taking the body's symptoms seriously and accepting them as an invitation to listen carefully. Both mindfulness and coaching put a lot of emphasis on trusting the deep inner wisdom of the client, mindfully exploring the meaning of life and deep inner needs, and trusting one's own intuition. My experience both as a coach and as a coachee is that it takes a very high level of presence and connection, as well as respect and compassion on the part of the coach for the process to be successful. On this fertile ground wellbeing and a sense of wholeness and purpose can be achieved, taking simple small steps.
